Camillo Zangari showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfonso Palmucci in the 19th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Emilio Casiraghi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfredo Ottaviani was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alfonso Palmucci made a kick off. After 56 played minutes Cassanese got a freekick which was hit by Ferruccio Abbagnale. Domenico Rosa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 58th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alfredo Ottaviani. Cassanese's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 61 minutes into the game, Emilio Casiraghi lined in a short shot 1-4 behind a frustrated Alfredo Ottaviani. In the 72ndth minute of the game Emilio Casiraghi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cassanese's Alfredo Ottaviani was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Domenico Rosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Alfredo Ottaviani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vicenza's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
