The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fausto Motta to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, San Ruffino FC's Aurelio Caruso got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 56th minute, Fausto Motta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Fausto Motta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Achille Sergi was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Achille Sergi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristiano Simonetti's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. Cristiano Simonetti struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Achille Sergi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Albereto.
