Emiliano Pettinelli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabio Battista having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eugenio Di Dio to strike the kick off in the second half. Fabio Battista was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Eugenio Di Dio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabio Battista was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. A collision led to Montanaro AFC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Arrigo Marziali hit a great ball. In the 74th minute Acireale were awarded a corner. Despite this Fabio Battista quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Fabio Battista didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emiliano Pettinelli went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 85th minute, Emiliano Pettinelli made a precise shot to the right of Fabio Battista. Montanaro AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Eugenio Di Dio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Fabio Battista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabio Battista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eugenio Di Dio, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Eugenio Di Dio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Acireale's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
