FC New Ancona's Ettore Frezza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudio Rucci in the 14th minute of play. FC New Ancona's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernesto Bonsignore was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 42 minutes into the game, Claudio Rucci cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Ettore Frezza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The FC New Ancona players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Salice Cálabro were winning 0-3.

After having played for 67 minutes, Claudio Rucci managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC New Ancona's goalkeeper Ettore Frezza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ernesto Bonsignore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damiano Paganelli having to interfere. Damiano Paganelli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Federico Travaglini in the 91st minute of play forced FC New Ancona's goalkeeper Ettore Frezza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Federico Travaglini recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Federico Travaglini's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ettore Frezza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Salice Cálabro had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
