But to his dismay, Franco Silveri quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Cormano's Alessio Ascenzi got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Alessio Ascenzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Emiliano Helfer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cormano's Amerigo Di Bartolo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emiliano Helfer in the 23rd minute of play. Amerigo Di Bartolo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emiliano Helfer in the 25th minute of play. In the 26th match minute, Cormano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Carnevale to maneuver through the defense. Anselmo Moretti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristiano Orioli in the 30th minute of the match. In the 33rd minute Cristiano Orioli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anselmo Moretti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute Emiliano Helfer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amerigo Di Bartolo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Cormano's zone, Ercole Capuozzi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amerigo Di Bartolo came out of the goal and Ercole Capuozzi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emiliano Helfer in the 41st minute of play forced Cormano's goalkeeper Amerigo Di Bartolo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Bruno Maranzano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Saronno's supporters rose to their feet, but Bruno Maranzano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amerigo Di Bartolo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alessio Ascenzi in the 44thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Anselmo Moretti, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Anselmo Moretti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristiano Orioli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alessio Ascenzi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anselmo Moretti having to make a save.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emiliano Helfer to strike the kick off in the second half. Bruno Maranzano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emiliano Helfer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amerigo Di Bartolo having to interfere. In the 58th minute, Ercole Capuozzi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 62 minutes into the match, Cristiano Orioli had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Anselmo Moretti. Saronno's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristiano Orioli was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Emiliano Helfer struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Amerigo Di Bartolo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Saronno. When Emiliano Helfer came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Saronno fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emiliano Helfer couldn't finish the play. Bruno Maranzano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amerigo Di Bartolo having to interfere. Cristiano Orioli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anselmo Moretti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristiano Orioli, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. If Bruno Maranzano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emiliano Helfer who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 81stth minute tested the skills of Amerigo Di Bartolo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emiliano Helfer got free with Amerigo Di Bartolo in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 85 minutes into the match, Cormano's goalkeeper Amerigo Di Bartolo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emiliano Helfer. In the 86th minute, Antonio Pennetta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emiliano Helfer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amerigo Di Bartolo having to interfere. Many of Saronno's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Saronno may have spent more time on the ball, but Cormano were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
