Spectators: 7371 (Terracing: 5529, Seating: 1695, VIP seats: 147) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Concetto Cardella made the kick off which started today's match. In the 5th minute, Bruno Bernardi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 9th minute Eraldo Totaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciccio Ricciuti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Concetto Cardella in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ciccio Ricciuti saved F.C. Ligabue from getting behind. In the 11th match minute, F.C. Ligabue was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuele Riccitelli to maneuver through the defense. In the 13th minute, Aurelio Giancristofaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 19 minutes into the game, Concetto Cardella cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ciccio Ricciuti was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Coccinella's Domenico Piola proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Coccinella from getting a goal against them. In the 32nd minute Dario Simeoni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Domenico Piola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute F.C. Ligabue were awarded a corner. Camillo Pazienza went to the cornerflag to take it. After a defensive mix-up in Coccinella's zone, Amos Coviello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Domenico Piola came out of the goal and Amos Coviello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 41st minute, Concetto Cardella made a precise shot to the right of Ciccio Ricciuti. F.C. Ligabue's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 47th minute, Dario Simeoni fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Domenico Piola, passed just outside the right post. After the first half Coccinella were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dario Simeoni to strike the kick off in the second half. Coccinella's Domenico Piola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dario Simeoni in the 52nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Bruno Bernardi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Coccinella's supporters rose to their feet, but Bruno Bernardi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ciccio Ricciuti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carlo Palladino's late challenge caught a Coccinella's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlo Palladino helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, F.C. Ligabue's Carlo Palladino got a free kick in the 56th minute. Concetto Cardella's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ciccio Ricciuti read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Elia Romanese might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ciccio Ricciuti. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elia Romanese ran back to his position shaking his head. 67 minutes into the match, F.C. Ligabue's goalkeeper Ciccio Ricciuti had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Concetto Cardella. 67 minutes into the game, Felice Madaio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. F.C. Ligabue's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Coccinella the free kick. Ciccio Ricciuti made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Concetto Cardella sent off a good shot on target. In the 72nd minute Dario Simeoni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Domenico Piola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Coccinella's Augusto Rigoni managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Aurelio Giancristofaro in the 76 minute of the game. Ciccio Ricciuti came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Coccinella's Concetto Cardella. But to his dismay, Concetto Cardella quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Ciccio Ricciuti was a little too slow when Concetto Cardella got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 83rd minute. The score was now 0-4. If Concetto Cardella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Eraldo Totaro came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Coccinella fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eraldo Totaro couldn't finish the play. Concetto Cardella's late challenge caught a F.C. Ligabue's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Concetto Cardella helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Coccinella getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Concetto Cardella hit a great ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Coccinella walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
