The referee ignored Corticella's protests and gave Alessio Piola a yellow card for diving instead. Angelo De Lorenzi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. In the 24th minute, Enrico Baratta left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Renaissance fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Corticella's Ernesto Miranda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angelo De Lorenzi in the 32nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Angelo De Lorenzi in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ernesto Miranda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 36 minutes, Enrico Baratta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Renaissance's supporters crossed their fingers, but Enrico Baratta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ernesto Miranda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angelo De Lorenzi in the 37th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angelo De Lorenzi in the 43rd minute of play forced Corticella's goalkeeper Ernesto Miranda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Enrico Baratta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The Corticella players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Renaissance were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Angelo De Lorenzi to make the kick off. Renaissance's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Corticella the free kick. After 61 played minutes Renaissance got a freekick which was hit by Dario Guerrini. Felice Foddis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Frank Picciano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Felice Foddis came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Corticella fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felice Foddis couldn't finish the play. If Flavio Coscarella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st match minute, Renaissance was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Nicolo to maneuver through the defense. Ernesto Miranda acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 95th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Arturo Piccone.
