After a rather tough play, Coviolo's Carmine Abbagnale got a free kick in the 27th minute. Flavio Trinca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rd minute, Anfilogino Nazzari hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Anfilogino Nazzari fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Coviolo's protests and gave Anfilogino Nazzari a yellow card for diving instead. After 38 played minutes Coviolo got a freekick which was hit by Anfilogino Nazzari. After 41 minutes Coviolo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Angelo Di Fazio who took care of the corner kick. Carmine Abbagnale hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Flavio Trinca stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Anselmo Piccoli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flavio Trinca in the 62nd minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Anfilogino Nazzari hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 64 minutes into the match, Coviolo's goal looked a bit too open when Adriano Tondi came free, but Anselmo Piccoli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Flavio Trinca might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anselmo Piccoli. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Flavio Trinca ran back to his position shaking his head. Napoli's Demetrio Pellecchia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Zarillo in the 69th minute of play. Anselmo Piccoli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Concetto Antenucci, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Adriano Tondi took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anselmo Piccoli. Anselmo Piccoli dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Flavio Trinca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmo Piccoli having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Flavio Trinca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anselmo Piccoli was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. In the 87th match minute, Coviolo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anthony Giuliani to maneuver through the defense. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
