Colonnata's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alessandro Guarrera was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Colonnata's zone, Christian Armellini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antonello Lazzaro came out of the goal and Christian Armellini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Alessandro Guarrera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Alvise Villa made the kick off in the second half. If Alessandro Guarrera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Christian Armellini put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Antonello Lazzaro. San Mauro Pascoli's Christian Armellini got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ferdinando Trombatore kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. In the 92nd minute Alvise Villa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antonello Lazzaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
