Cosimo Tartaglia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Demetrio Chiola in the 21st minute of play. When Angelo Manna fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored a.c. Milena's protests and gave Angelo Manna a yellow card for diving instead. After 29 minutes, Cesare Iacomini mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Casteddu and the a.c. Milena players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Andrea Ricci fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored a.c. Milena's protests and gave Andrea Ricci a yellow card for diving instead. 32 minutes into the game, one of a.c. Milena:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Beppe Scirea who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 37thth minute tested the skills of Cosimo Tartaglia when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The a.c. Milena fans' excitement grew in the 38th match minute when a.c. Milena's Dino Leoni looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Demetrio Chiola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dino Leoni stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Casteddu's Alfonso Barillari played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dino Leoni in the 51st minute of play. Dino Leoni took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alfonso Barillari. Alfonso Barillari dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. After a rather tough play, a.c. Milena's Francesco Coscarella got a free kick in the 56th minute. Demetrio Chiola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cosimo Tartaglia having to interfere. 62 minutes into the match, Beppe Scirea notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of a.c. Milena's Cosimo Tartaglia. Cosimo Tartaglia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Demetrio Chiola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Cosimo Tartaglia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Casteddu fully deserved thier win.
