San Giovese FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ernesto Morelli was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ernesto Morelli in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Amedeo Tarulli saved San Giovese FC from getting behind. The supporters of Sampdoria14 booed when San Giovese FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmondo Ronconi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amedeo Tarulli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernesto Scarpa in the 24th minute of the match. Ernesto Scarpa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to San Giovese FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Florian Franzioni hit a great ball. 31 minutes into the match, Sampdoria14's Alvise Croce broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 34th minute, San Giovese FC's Edmondo Ronconi seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Edmondo Ronconi the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of San Giovese FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Edmondo Ronconi had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 33 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for San Giovese FC! The referee gave Sampdoria14 a penalty, 36 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Alvise Croce, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of San Giovese FC's Amedeo Tarulli. 0-2. If Ernesto Scarpa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Demetrio Giacomozzi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Demetrio Giacomozzi to make the kick off. Sampdoria14's Ernesto Scarpa got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ernesto Morelli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Amedeo Tarulli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernesto Scarpa in the 56th minute of play forced San Giovese FC's goalkeeper Amedeo Tarulli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Sampdoria14's Amedeo Tarulli threw himself towards the right post 58 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ernesto Scarpa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ernesto Morelli who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 61stth minute tested the skills of Amedeo Tarulli when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 65th minute, Sampdoria14's Ernesto Scarpa dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. In the 70th minute Ernesto Scarpa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amedeo Tarulli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. San Giovese FC's Amedeo Tarulli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save San Giovese FC from getting a goal against them. After 74 played minutes San Giovese FC got a freekick which was hit by Fabrizio Cannata. Ernesto Scarpa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amedeo Tarulli having to interfere. Sampdoria14's Ernesto Scarpa got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sampdoria14 played a much better game than San Giovese FC and deserved their victory. The San Giovese FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
