In the 11th match minute, A.S ROMA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fulvio Caniglia to maneuver through the defense. A.S ROMA's Alessandro Olivieri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciro Morini in the 12th minute of play. A collision led to A.S ROMA getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Carter Ucci hit a great ball. If Ferruccio Lelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of A.S ROMA booed when San Giorgio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciro Morini didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in A.S ROMA's zone, Ferruccio Lelli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alessandro Olivieri came out of the goal and Ferruccio Lelli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ciro Morini's late challenge caught a A.S ROMA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ciro Morini helped the player get up and apologised. When San Giorgio's Davide Marini in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye A.S ROMA's goalie prevented a goal. When Ciro Morini came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the San Giorgio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ciro Morini couldn't finish the play. Alessandro Olivieri stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ciro Morini's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciro Morini in the 48th minute of play forced A.S ROMA's goalkeeper Alessandro Olivieri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

San Giorgio's Ciro Morini got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ferruccio Lelli came free with the goalkeeper in the 90th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Alessandro Olivieri could save by the left post. In the 91st minute Ciro Morini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alessandro Olivieri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 95th minute of the match, Ciro Morini tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Alessandro Olivieri saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. A hard shot by Eraldo Domenici from long distance, 99 minutes into the match, got Alessandro Olivieri's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When the match was over San Giorgio could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than A.S ROMA throughout the match.
