Claudio Petito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Davide De Bettin having to interfere. Davide De Bettin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eraldo Martini in the 28th minute of the match. If Claudio Petito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guasticce's Franco Feltrin managed to work through Valmairone FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Franco Feltrin dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Claudio Petito to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Eraldo Martini got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Franco Feltrin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fausto Pellecchia was relentless in the 67th minute of the game.
