Ermanno Tarquini showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. 20 minutes into the match, Bassanello's goal looked a bit too open when Attilio Novella came free, but Alfonso Mameli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Attilio Novella managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maxen F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Attilio Novella was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The corner led Maxen F.C.'s Angelo Rulli to fire away a dangerous shot which Alfonso Mameli despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Attilio Novella stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Edoardo Palone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arrigo Tomasso having to interfere. Maxen F.C.'s Arrigo Tomasso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ermanno Tarquini in the 64th minute of play. Arrigo Tomasso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ermanno Tarquini in the 69th minute of play. After having played for 73 minutes, Edoardo Palone managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bassanello's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edoardo Palone was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
