Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Anthony Pietropaolo kicked off to start the match. Andrea Giancristofaro charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Andrea Giancristofaro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 4 played minutes Capurso got a freekick which was hit by Andrea Giancristofaro. After having played for 8 minutes, Ermanno Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Capurso's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ermanno Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Donato Piccirilli hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Capurso's zone, Fedele Zisser stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Federico Casciano came out of the goal and Fedele Zisser tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anthony Pietropaolo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Donato Piccirilli fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Capurso's protests and gave Donato Piccirilli a yellow card for diving instead. Donato Piccirilli hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Federico Romino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anthony Pietropaolo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Fedele Zisser managed to get in a good position for a shot. James Joyce Academy's supporters rose to their feet, but Fedele Zisser was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Federico Casciano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Camillo Cannone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind James Joyce Academy's goalkeeper Federico Romino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 45 minutes, Anthony Pietropaolo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ermanno Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fedele Zisser to make the kick off. When Fedele Zisser fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored James Joyce Academy's protests and gave Fedele Zisser a yellow card for diving instead. After 54 played minutes James Joyce Academy got a freekick which was hit by Fedele Zisser. Ermanno Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Federico Romino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fedele Zisser in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Federico Casciano saved Capurso from getting behind. Fedele Zisser received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Federico Casciano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 64 minutes in the game, Camillo Cannone fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Federico Casciano having to interfere. In the 67th match minute, James Joyce Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fedele Zisser to maneuver through the defense. Ermanno Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Federico Romino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Ermanno Costa put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Federico Romino. When Capurso's Anthony Pietropaolo in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye James Joyce Academy's goalie prevented a goal. Anthony Pietropaolo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of James Joyce Academy booed when Capurso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dario Pelusi didn't get a good kick on the ball. During the 84th minute of the match Dario Pelusi completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Dario Pelusi a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 85 played minutes Capurso got a freekick which was hit by Dario Pelusi. Ermanno Costa might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Federico Romino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ermanno Costa ran back to his position shaking his head. For all the effort they put into the match, the James Joyce Academy players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Capurso.
