Spectators: 7384 (Terracing: 5539, Seating: 1698, VIP seats: 147) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Fedele Martinelli took the kick off in the first half of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fedele Martinelli in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edoardo Novella prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Franco Raniolo hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Ferruccio Salomone took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 9th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Edoardo Novella. SAMARATE FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Fedele Martinelli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Edoardo Novella tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aldo Melito's late challenge caught a Varani fc's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aldo Melito helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Varani fc booed when SAMARATE FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aldo Melito didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th match minute, SAMARATE FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aldo Melito to maneuver through the defense. Fedele Martinelli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Edoardo Novella tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 1-0 became the score in the 26th minute when Ferdinando Del Greco elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 29th minute, Achille Padula ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edoardo Novella was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. A collision led to Varani fc getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Achille Padula hit a great ball. In the 35th minute, Achille Padula fired away a free kick at the goal, but hit it at the wrong angle and it went over the crossbar. Edoardo Novella made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fedele Martinelli in the 41st minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, Varani fc's Fedele Martinelli sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edoardo Novella narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alfonso Carosella was the one to do the kick off. 2-1 became the score in the 52nd minute when Alfonso Carosella elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Fedele Martinelli kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Edoardo Novella. That made the score 2-2 in the 57 minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Varani fc's Fedele Martinelli dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. 71 minutes into the match, Achille Padula notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of SAMARATE FC's Edoardo Novella. Edoardo Novella was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Alfonso Carosella sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fedele Martinelli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cosimo Cabrini might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edoardo Novella. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cosimo Cabrini ran back to his position shaking his head. The SAMARATE FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Varani fc were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
