Spectators: 7298 (Terracing: 5475, Seating: 1678, VIP seats: 145) Olengo's Demetrio Frabetti started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 12th match minute, Olengo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dario Costa to maneuver through the defense. When Arturo Filippini came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Cavese fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arturo Filippini couldn't finish the play. Cavese's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Flavio Luciani was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After 30 played minutes Cavese got a freekick which was hit by Arturo Filippini. Flavio Luciani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Demetrio Frabetti in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eugenio Gaspari prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Flavio Luciani's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eugenio Gaspari read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Alberigo Rosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
