The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to A.S. MOLFETTA getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Federico Cirelli hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in A.S. MOLFETTA's zone, Ernesto Tripodi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fortunato Piacentini came out of the goal and Ernesto Tripodi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ernesto Tripodi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 20th minute, Abdul Aziz van de Meerakker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 28 minutes into the match, A.S. MOLFETTA's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Tripodi came free, but Fortunato Piacentini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Mikkel Frøseth fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored A.S. MOLFETTA's protests and gave Mikkel Frøseth a yellow card for diving instead. In the 31st match minute, A.S. MOLFETTA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mikkel Frøseth to maneuver through the defense. Piangipane FC's Ernesto Tripodi got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fortunato Piacentini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernesto Tripodi in the 45th minute of the match. Ernesto Tripodi who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 52ndth minute tested the skills of Fortunato Piacentini when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Damiano Vago kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. A.S. MOLFETTA's Fortunato Piacentini proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save A.S. MOLFETTA from getting a goal against them. Anfilogino Ciolli charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anfilogino Ciolli the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Piangipane FC's Anfilogino Ciolli got a free kick in the 57th minute. The Piangipane FC fans' excitement grew in the 59th match minute when Piangipane FC's Ernesto Tripodi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Fabrizio De Angelis hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. MOLFETTA's Fortunato Piacentini was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Abdul Aziz van de Meerakker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Cesare Orrore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Piangipane FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
