But to his dismay, Ciccio Evani quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 7th minute Edoardo De Luca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmondo De Lorenzi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 9th minute, Comunardo Cusumano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 13 minutes into the match, Rovigo's goal looked a bit too open when Ettore Cirigliano came free, but Edmondo De Lorenzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Arrigo Cusumano fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rovigo's protests and gave Arrigo Cusumano a yellow card for diving instead. In the 17th minute there was a penalty for Alpicella FC. Andrea Vaiani stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Edmondo De Lorenzi. 0-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adriano Raiola during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 20th match minute, Rovigo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adriano Raiola to maneuver through the defense. When Anthony Marinucci came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Alpicella FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anthony Marinucci couldn't finish the play. 24 minutes into the game, Alessio Paoletti recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tayfur Ilıcak. Alessio Paoletti showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Rovigo's Adriano Raiola was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 27th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anselmo Ali during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Anselmo Ali hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. After 32 minutes of play Rovigo's Arrigo Cusumano was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The referee gave Alpicella FC a penalty, 34 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Andrea Vaiani, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Rovigo's Edmondo De Lorenzi. 2-3. Edoardo De Luca might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edmondo De Lorenzi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edoardo De Luca ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Rovigo's zone, Anthony Marinucci stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edmondo De Lorenzi came out of the goal and Anthony Marinucci tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alberto Spano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmondo De Lorenzi having to interfere. When Anthony Marinucci came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Alpicella FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anthony Marinucci couldn't finish the play. Edmondo De Lorenzi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anthony Marinucci in the 46th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anthony Marinucci stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Rovigo's goalkeeper Edmondo De Lorenzi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alessio Paoletti took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tayfur Ilıcak. Tayfur Ilıcak dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3. When Alberto Spano came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Alpicella FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Spano couldn't finish the play. In the 66th minute, Ciccio Evani got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edmondo De Lorenzi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Spano in the 68th minute. Cristiano Pocobello kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. When Cristiano Pocobello came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Rovigo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristiano Pocobello couldn't finish the play. Edmondo De Lorenzi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anthony Marinucci in the 94th minute of the match. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rovigo's goalkeeper Edmondo De Lorenzi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alpicella FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
