After a rather tough play, Fulminea's Bernardo Traini got a free kick in the 5th minute. Camillo Alberico kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. In the 8th minute Elia Guidone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felice Del Greco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Burundi's zone, Fabio Prosperi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felice Del Greco came out of the goal and Fabio Prosperi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fortunato Trinca hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Fortunato Trinca charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fortunato Trinca the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 19th minute, Fortunato Trinca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 20 minutes, Bernardo Colasante managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fulminea's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernardo Colasante was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 22nd minute, Ernesto Bergamini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Burundi's Felice Del Greco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elia Guidone in the 24th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabio Prosperi in the 27th minute of play forced Burundi's goalkeeper Felice Del Greco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Burundi getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Ernesto Bergamini hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Fabio Prosperi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fulminea's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabio Prosperi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Felice Del Greco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 33 minutes into the match, Burundi's goal looked a bit too open when Elia Guidone came free, but Felice Del Greco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo Savoia in the 37th minute of play forced Burundi's goalkeeper Felice Del Greco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felice Del Greco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Filippo De Lorenzi in the 41st minute of the match. Felice Del Greco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabio Prosperi, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Bernardo Traini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felice Del Greco having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Elia Guidone made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elia Guidone got free with Felice Del Greco in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Felice Del Greco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elia Guidone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 55th minute, Elia Guidone made a precise shot to the right of Felice Del Greco. Burundi's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Elia Guidone in the 63rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Felice Del Greco, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Bernardo Colasante recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Fulminea booed when Burundi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edoardo Franceschi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felice Del Greco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elia Guidone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Domenico Orrore showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amerigo Del Grosso in the 79th minute of the match. Bernardo Colasante's late challenge caught a Burundi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernardo Colasante helped the player get up and apologised. In the 80th match minute, Fulminea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardo Colasante to maneuver through the defense. Ernesto Bergamini kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Elia Guidone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felice Del Greco having to interfere. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
