Amerigo Del Grosso ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 19 minutes, Armando Madaio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dubai FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armando Madaio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arturo Trentini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 29 minutes into the match, Burundi's Arturo Trentini sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Comunardo Di Giacomo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Comunardo Di Giacomo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arturo Trentini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 49 minutes Burundi's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bernardo Lampa who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Bernardo Lampa almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Burundi's Felice Del Greco did a great save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

After some careless play in the Burundi defense, Armando Madaio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Felice Del Greco. The Burundi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Felice Del Greco should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amerigo Del Grosso in the 55th minute of play forced Dubai FC's goalkeeper Comunardo Di Giacomo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Burundi's Adriano Marinetti got a free kick in the 66th minute. Ernesto Bergamini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 72 minutes, Amerigo Del Grosso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Burundi walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
