But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexander Pozzo couldn't finish the play. Achille Avesani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Emanuele Campoli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alexander Pozzo hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute, Federico Ruggieri ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Emanuele Campoli was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Enzo Righi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Augusto Di Liddo came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Palermo fans jumped to their feet. Partenope's zone, Alexander Pozzo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emanuele Liberatore came out of the goal and Alexander Pozzo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alexander Pozzo during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Emanuele Liberatore showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexander Pozzo in the 41st minute of the match. 42 minutes into the game, Ercole Saraceni was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. F.C. Partenope's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palermo the free kick. In the 90th minute Alexander Pozzo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuele Liberatore saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
