Ciccio Giancristofaro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 14th minute Atletico MaStanco were awarded a corner. After taking down the ball on Atletico MaStanco's corner Enrico Esposito fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ciccio Giancristofaro quite easily take care of the ball. The Atletico MaStanco fans' excitement grew in the 14th match minute when Atletico MaStanco's Daniele Mazzone looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A collision led to Operário Sangérsolense getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Cesare Armellini hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cesare Armellini during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Atletico MaStanco booed when Operário Sangérsolense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Operário Sangérsolense's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Enrico Esposito was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Operário Sangérsolense's goalkeeper Ciccio Giancristofaro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Carlo Scrima took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ciccio Giancristofaro. Ciccio Giancristofaro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Atletico MaStanco's Aurelio Sartori pulled a muscle in his leg after 46 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee ignored Operário Sangérsolense's protests and gave Antonio Biagetti a yellow card for diving instead. Atletico MaStanco made a substitution. Edoardo Tassotti replaced Aurelio Sartori. After 47 played minutes Operário Sangérsolense got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Biagetti. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Daniele Mazzone could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Ciccio Giancristofaro made a huge save. Enrico Esposito's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ciccio Giancristofaro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Atletico MaStanco's Cosimo Odisio got a free kick in the 61st minute. Ciro Romano took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 62nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Carmine Brillante. Atletico MaStanco's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Edoardo Tassotti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Enrico Maggi scored 2-5 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carmine Brillante, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 80th match minute, Operário Sangérsolense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Attilio Rivera to maneuver through the defense. If Carlo Scrima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Enrico Esposito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciccio Giancristofaro having to interfere. If Cesare Armellini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cristoforo Bellone hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Ciccio Giancristofaro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlo Scrima in the 92nd minute of the match. Ciccio Giancristofaro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Enrico Esposito in the 96th minute. Atletico MaStanco played a much better game than Operário Sangérsolense and deserved their victory. The Operário Sangérsolense players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
