If Cesare Armellini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Brindisi Club's Donato Giardino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrico Maggi in the 9th minute of play. Antonio Biagetti kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. In the 20th minute, Daniele Pelati hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Donato Giardino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antonio Biagetti in the 24th minute of the match. The supporters of Operário Sangérsolense booed when The Brindisi Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fulvio Lozzi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Donato Giardino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Biagetti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute, Daniele Pelati got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniele Pelati fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciccio Giancristofaro having to interfere. After having played for 41 minutes, Daniele Pelati managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Brindisi Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniele Pelati was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Antonio Biagetti's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Donato Giardino read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Daniele Pelati made the kick off in the second half. Antonio Biagetti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Giardino having to interfere. In the 54th minute of the match, Enrico Maggi got a very nice opportunity to score, but Donato Giardino was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 56 minutes into the match, The Brindisi Club's goalkeeper Donato Giardino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Enrico Maggi. Daniele Pelati blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ciccio Giancristofaro having to make a save. Fulvio Lozzi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristoforo Bellone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Giardino having to interfere. Daniele Pelati kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Antonio Biagetti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Operário Sangérsolense's Enrico Maggi got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Enrico Maggi might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Donato Giardino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Enrico Maggi ran back to his position shaking his head. Chants of Operário Sangérsolense echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as The Brindisi Club had held the ball for most of the match.
