The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alberigo Giordano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Cristoforo Contestabile tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Improta in the 7th minute of play forced Rivalta's goalkeeper Franco Palmucci to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Franco Palmucci showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fausto Improta, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Franco Palmucci made an important save on a dangerous shot by Amedeo Cicchetti in the 13th minute. Ennio Falcone might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Franco Palmucci. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ennio Falcone ran back to his position shaking his head. 21 minutes into the match, Rivalta's goalkeeper Franco Palmucci had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Amedeo Cicchetti. In the 22nd play minute Amedeo Cicchetti came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Franco Palmucci. 2-0. Alberigo Giordano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Cristoforo Contestabile tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristoforo Contestabile showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anfilogino Signori in the 32nd minute of the match. Franco Palmucci made an important save on a dangerous shot by Amedeo Cicchetti in the 34th minute. 36 minutes into the match, Rivalta's goal looked a bit too open when Ennio Falcone came free, but Franco Palmucci reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Alberigo Giordano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to FC Spadolini getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Eugenio Paganelli hit a great ball. Franco Palmucci took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ennio Falcone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Franco Palmucci made an important save on a dangerous shot by Amedeo Cicchetti in the 45th minute. Achille Chizzo kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Amedeo Cicchetti kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Franco Palmucci. That made the score 3-0 in the 48 minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fausto Improta was the one to do the kick off. In the 57th play minute Alberigo Giordano came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Cristoforo Contestabile. 3-1. In the 61st minute, Alberigo Giordano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. FC Spadolini's Cristoforo Contestabile played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberigo Giordano in the 64th minute of play. With his leg Cristoforo Contestabile managed to avoid a goal in the 66thth minute, when Rivalta's Alberigo Giordano fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Alberigo Giordano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adriano Scrima kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Cristoforo Contestabile came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Rivalta's Alberigo Giordano. But to his dismay, Alberigo Giordano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. The audience was convinced that Anfilogino Signori's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cristoforo Contestabile was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Rivalta's zone, Ennio Falcone stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Franco Palmucci came out of the goal and Ennio Falcone tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, FC Spadolini's Cristoforo Contestabile got control of the ball when Alberigo Giordano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eugenio Di Gennaro hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Fausto Improta might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Franco Palmucci. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fausto Improta ran back to his position shaking his head. 85 minutes into the match, Rivalta's goal looked a bit too open when Amedeo Cicchetti came free, but Franco Palmucci reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th match minute, Rivalta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Achille Chizzo to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, FC Spadolini's Augusto Imperiale tried to score from far away in the 90th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Franco Palmucci made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fausto Improta in the 93rd minute of play. Franco Palmucci took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ennio Falcone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anfilogino Signori sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Spadolini's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
