The S.S.C.N. 1926 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Biagio Colelli should have stopped the shot. Biagio Colelli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonio Della Francesca in the 15th minute of play. Antonio Della Francesca struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Biagio Colelli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Unione Venezia. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Biagio Colelli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Ermanno Porreca came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Unione Venezia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ermanno Porreca couldn't finish the play. Unione Venezia's Antonio Della Francesca got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Felice Mariano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alex Prisco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anfilogino Corvasce, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Antonio Della Francesca received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Biagio Colelli came out and tried to block the shot, but Antonio Della Francesca slotted it home off the left post making it 0-5 in the 96th minute. Unione Venezia's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
