Fizzonasco FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santa Nicola the free kick. The supporters of Santa Nicola booed when Fizzonasco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dennis Pedroni didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Fizzonasco FC's zone, Alberigo Giusto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anthony De Paolis came out of the goal and Alberigo Giusto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. During the 9th minute of the match Dennis Pedroni completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. In the 14th minute of the match Corrado Chiarelli sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Elia Rocchetti skillfully saved the ball.
