Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Flavio Del Nero started the match with the kick off. After having played for 3 minutes, Flavio Del Nero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Milano FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Flavio Del Nero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 4th match minute, Bolhamburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eraldo Bozzo to maneuver through the defense. Achille Contestabile fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ermanno Grasso having to interfere. Carlo Melone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ettore Ingegno in the 8th minute of the match. Carlo Melone came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Bolhamburg's Arrigo Casiraghi. But to his dismay, Arrigo Casiraghi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Fausto Palleschi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ermanno Grasso was out of position in the 20 minute of play, and Flavio Del Nero capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Flavio Del Nero really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. After 22 played minutes Bolhamburg got a freekick which was hit by Enrico Martorella. Concetto Rosati's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ermanno Grasso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Ettore Ingegno scored 2-2 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carlo Melone, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Carlo Melone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ettore Ingegno in the 34th minute of play. Milano FC's Flavio Del Nero got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 44th minute Ettore Ingegno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlo Melone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ettore Ingegno stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ettore Ingegno scored 2-3 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carlo Melone, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Achille Brandini blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carlo Melone having to make a save. Ferruccio Casciano kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. A hard shot by Eugenio Rotondi from long distance, 58 minutes into the match, got Carlo Melone's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Carlo Melone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ettore Ingegno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Through an outstanding action, after 66 minutes, Carlo Melone successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Carlo Melone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damiano Piscopo in the 71st minute of play. In the 76th minute, Fausto Palleschi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Milano FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. In the 79th minute Dario Di Pasquale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ermanno Grasso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Achille Contestabile struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Ermanno Grasso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Milano FC. Ermanno Grasso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavio Del Nero, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Damiano Piscopo scored 3-4 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carlo Melone, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 91 minutes into the game, Milano FC's Achille Contestabile nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ermanno Grasso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-4. After a defensive mix-up in Bolhamburg's zone, Flavio Del Nero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ermanno Grasso came out of the goal and Flavio Del Nero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 97th minute, Flavio Del Nero left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Milano FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-4. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Milano FC had played much better football throughout.
