Fedele Placidi came out of the goal and Anthony Polito tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 28 minutes into the match, ICCARA FC's Alessio Borrelli sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ettore Massaro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 29 minutes into the match, ICCARA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Cellucci came free, but Fedele Placidi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Cellucci in the 30th minute of play forced ICCARA FC's goalkeeper Fedele Placidi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cristiano Cellucci stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Varsity Blues Velletri's Ettore Massaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alessio Borrelli in the 52nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Fausto Lauri managed to get in a good position for a shot. ICCARA FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fausto Lauri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ettore Massaro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fausto Lauri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Anselmo Passerini fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Varsity Blues Velletri's protests and gave Anselmo Passerini a yellow card for diving instead. The ICCARA FC fans' excitement grew in the 87th match minute when ICCARA FC's Fausto Lauri looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
