Camillo Tocchetto succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 8th playminute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Camillo Tocchetto got free with Cesare Tristezza in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 22nd minute, Trieste's Nico Williams ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Cesare Tristezza. Cesare Tristezza yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Cesare Tristezza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nico Williams, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 29th minute, Camillo Tocchetto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Trieste fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. 32 minutes into the match, Ettore Pizzi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cesare Tristezza. C.C. Ortigia Siracusa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ettore Pizzi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. After 38 played minutes C.C. Ortigia Siracusa got a freekick which was hit by George Dănănae. Cesare Tristezza made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Camillo Tocchetto sent off a good shot on target. Francesco Rava showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Davide Negri in the 47th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Davide Negri was the one to do the kick off. After 54 minutes, Bernardo Moretti mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the C.C. Ortigia Siracusa and the Trieste players grew even worse after the yellow card.
