Daniele Falcone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Comunardo Romano having to interfere. Comunardo Romano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberigo Lelli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 15 minutes into the match, Dario Odisio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Comunardo Romano. Baranzate's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dario Odisio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 18th minute, Armando Benarrivo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Baranzate getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Emanuele Granata hit a great ball. Comunardo Romano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fulvio Grimaldi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 26 minutes of play, Poggibonsi's Fulvio Grimaldi made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Comunardo Romano was left in no man's land by his defense there! 29 minutes into the match, Baranzate's goal looked a bit too open when Daniele Falcone came free, but Comunardo Romano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fulvio Grimaldi in the 34th minute of play forced Baranzate's goalkeeper Comunardo Romano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. But to his dismay, Fulvio Grimaldi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. After the first half Poggibonsi were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Armando Benarrivo to make the kick off. When Dario Odisio came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Poggibonsi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dario Odisio couldn't finish the play. When Daniele Falcone fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Poggibonsi's protests and gave Daniele Falcone a yellow card for diving instead. 59 minutes into the match, Baranzate's goalkeeper Comunardo Romano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dario Odisio. Fortunato Lavatrice kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberigo Lelli in the 61st minute of play forced Baranzate's goalkeeper Comunardo Romano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Baranzate's goal looked a bit too open when Daniele Falcone came free, but Comunardo Romano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Comunardo Romano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberigo Lelli, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Fulvio Grimaldi's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Comunardo Romano firmly grabbed it by the left post. Dario Odisio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Comunardo Romano made a huge save. In the 75th minute, Fulvio Grimaldi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dario Odisio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Comunardo Romano made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fulvio Grimaldi got free with Comunardo Romano in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Baranzate's Comunardo Romano got control of the ball when Dario Odisio tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Baranzate booed when Poggibonsi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniele Falcone didn't get a good kick on the ball. Comunardo Romano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberigo Lelli in the 88th minute of play. Fulvio Grimaldi's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. When the final whistle sounded Poggibonsi left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Baranzate.
