After 6 minutes of play, Perla Ionica's Bernardo Barchiesi made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bruno Pietropaolo was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Bernardo Barchiesi came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Perla Ionica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernardo Barchiesi couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Perla Ionica booed when CSKA Roma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donato Palumbo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 15 minutes into the game, Perla Ionica's Bernardo Barchiesi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bruno Pietropaolo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Fabrizio Miccoli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franco Lozzi in the 19th minute of play. Bruno Pietropaolo came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Perla Ionica's Bernardo Barchiesi. But to his dismay, Bernardo Barchiesi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. 30 minutes into the match, Felice Della Torre had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bruno Pietropaolo. CSKA Roma's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felice Della Torre was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. In the 34th minute, Alfredo Palmieri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The wind increased when Franco Lozzi made the kick off in the second half. CSKA Roma's Bruno Pietropaolo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save CSKA Roma from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felice Della Torre in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bruno Pietropaolo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bruno Pietropaolo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bernardo Barchiesi in the 55th minute. In the 58th minute, Bernardo Barchiesi made a precise shot to the right of Bruno Pietropaolo. CSKA Roma's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. Bernardo Barchiesi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bruno Pietropaolo having to make a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Felice Della Torre kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Bruno Pietropaolo. That made the score 0-7 in the 61 minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felice Della Torre in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bruno Pietropaolo saved CSKA Roma from getting behind. In the 68th minute, Fabiano Zappacosta made a precise shot to the right of Fabrizio Miccoli. Perla Ionica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-7. With a little luck, CSKA Roma's Bruno Pietropaolo got control of the ball when Bernardo Barchiesi tried to sneak it across the goal line. 76 minutes into the match, Perla Ionica's Felice Della Torre sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bruno Pietropaolo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Perla Ionica made a substitution. Ennio Ciolli replaced Felice Della Torre. Ennio Ciolli struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Bruno Pietropaolo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Perla Ionica. When Ennio Ciolli came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Perla Ionica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ennio Ciolli couldn't finish the play. Perla Ionica played a much better game than CSKA Roma and deserved their victory. The CSKA Roma players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
