With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bogumil Wieloch prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Venezia's Beppe Chiarelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alessandro Bisegna in the 29th minute of play. In the 32nd match minute, U.C. Sampdoria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristiano Piretti to maneuver through the defense. Alessio Conforti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bogumil Wieloch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donato Malatesta, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Donato Malatesta to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Venezia booed when U.C. Sampdoria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ermanno Vulcano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 52nd minute, Alessio Conforti reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Bogumil Wieloch. The goal made the score 0-1. Alessio Conforti's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 55thth minute, Bogumil Wieloch skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 61 minutes into the game, Venezia's Alessio Conforti nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bogumil Wieloch made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Alessio Conforti struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Bogumil Wieloch didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezia. Bogumil Wieloch made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Alessio Conforti sent off a good shot on target. Bogumil Wieloch made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alessio Conforti in the 67th minute. A collision led to U.C. Sampdoria getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Ettore Feliziani hit a great ball. U.C. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Alessio Conforti took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Bogumil Wieloch to make any attempt to save it. Donato Malatesta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bogumil Wieloch having to interfere. If Alessio Conforti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match was over Venezia could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than U.C. Sampdoria throughout the match.
