An unexpectedly hard shot by Ąžuolas Tolvaiša in the 19th minute of play forced Palombina Nuova AFC's goalkeeper Jaroslaw Galus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th match minute, Palombina Nuova AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Mauro to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th minute, Ąžuolas Tolvaiša hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristiano Raffa was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 32 minutes into the match. In the 33rd minute Franco Guerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaroslaw Galus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Giorgos Moraitelis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Anselmo Di Mario. That made the score 2-1 in the 48 minute of play.

The wind increased when Ennio Passerini made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Ennio Passerini managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palombina Nuova AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ennio Passerini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After a rather tough play, Palombina Nuova AFC's Giorgos Moraitelis got a free kick in the 89th minute. Alfredo De Nardis hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Novara AFC GOOOOOAL were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
