Bernardo Di Gennaro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 6th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Carter Corvi. Alessandria FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Davide Raffa was out of position in the 8 minute of play, and Corrado Ricciuti capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Corrado Ricciuti really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Casavatore AFC's Dario Carta got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 18 played minutes, Alessandria FC's Domenico Farese shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Davide Raffa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Alessandria FC reached it. If Alberigo Cicchetti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 26th minute, Anselmo Cattaneo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Alessandria FC's zone, Alberigo Piccirilli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carter Corvi came out of the goal and Alberigo Piccirilli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Angelo Pelliccioni fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alessandria FC's protests and gave Angelo Pelliccioni a yellow card for diving instead. In the 42nd minute, Angelo Pelliccioni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Corrado Ricciuti to strike the kick off in the second half. Alessandria FC's Carter Corvi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dario Carta in the 54th minute of play. Alberigo Cicchetti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Davide Raffa having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Alberigo Cicchetti managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alessandria FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberigo Cicchetti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Davide Raffa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Corrado Ricciuti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Davide Raffa having to interfere. In the 65th minute, Antonello Visintin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alessandria FC's Alberigo Cicchetti got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 72 played minutes Alessandria FC got a freekick which was hit by Angelo Pelliccioni. In the 73rd minute of the match Bernardo Di Gennaro shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carter Corvi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Angelo Pelliccioni got his second yellow card in the match during the 74th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Alessandria FC getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Angelo Pelliccioni hit a great ball. After 78 played minutes Casavatore AFC got a freekick which was hit by Achille Campo. In the 80thth minute of the game Alberigo Cicchetti who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Casavatore AFC's Davide Raffa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 84 minutes into the game, Antonello Visintin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Casavatore AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alessandria FC the free kick. After a defensive mix-up in Casavatore AFC's zone, Domenico Farese stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Davide Raffa came out of the goal and Domenico Farese tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Davide Raffa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberigo Cicchetti, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. In the 90th minute, Corrado Ricciuti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Casavatore AFC's Davide Raffa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferruccio Boldrini in the 93rd minute of play. Alessandria FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
