When the match clock showed 84 minutes, the score became 2-3 when Eraldo Albertosi sped through tigertem's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Edmondo Melani. When Bianco Pompilio came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the tigertem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bianco Pompilio couldn't finish the play. In the 91st minute of the match, Eraldo Albertosi tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Edmondo Melani saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.
