The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Elia Zuccarini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anfilogino Azzolina, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. 13 minutes into the match, Varazze's goal looked a bit too open when Cesare Sartori came free, but Claudio Guerriero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amedeo Tedeschi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Claudio Guerriero read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abdi Özkutsal in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Claudio Guerriero saved Varazze from getting behind. Abdi Özkutsal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 25 minutes, Abdi Özkutsal made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Varazze's Claudio Guerriero tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Claudio Guerriero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amedeo Tedeschi, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After 33 played minutes Varazze got a freekick which was hit by Ciro Martinelli. In the 39th match minute, Legio Marconi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felice Del Pizzo to maneuver through the defense. In the 41st minute of the match Ferdinando Alessandro shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Elia Zuccarini showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Antonio Coscarella kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Legio Marconi's Elia Zuccarini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franco Ronca in the 43rd minute of play. A collision led to Varazze getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Ciro Martinelli hit a great ball. In the 44th match minute, Varazze was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anfilogino Azzolina to maneuver through the defense. Claudio Paglione kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Claudio Guerriero came out of the goal and Abdi Özkutsal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cesare Sartori fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudio Guerriero having to interfere. After 71 played minutes, Legio Marconi's Antonello Di Clemente shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Claudio Guerriero came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Legio Marconi reached it. After 73 played minutes Varazze got a freekick which was hit by Domenico Evani. When Abdi Özkutsal, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 74 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Claudio Guerriero was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 76 minutes into the game, Abdi Özkutsal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Claudio Guerriero was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Elia Zuccarini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Franco Ronca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Legio Marconi's defense didn't have a chance, in the 85th minute, when Franco Ronca scored to the left of an out of position Elia Zuccarini, making the score, 3-1. After 89 played minutes Varazze got a freekick which was hit by Franco Ronca. In the 90th minute of the match Antonello Di Clemente shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Claudio Guerriero showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 92 minutes into the match, Varazze's goal looked a bit too open when Abdi Özkutsal came free, but Claudio Guerriero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Varazze defense, Abdi Özkutsal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Claudio Guerriero. The Varazze fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Claudio Guerriero should have stopped the shot. Claudio Guerriero came out of the goal in the 98th minute to try and stop a shot by Legio Marconi's Abdi Özkutsal. But to his dismay, Abdi Özkutsal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. When the referee ended the match the Legio Marconi players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
