The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Augusto Bonfigli made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Fulvio Cimino sent off a good shot on target. Augusto Bonfigli stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fulvio Cimino's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. Alberigo Taurino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Augusto Bonfigli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fulvio Cimino, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Alberigo Taurino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 58thth minute of the game Fulvio Cimino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but USD Cavese's Augusto Bonfigli was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Alberigo Taurino managed to get in a good position for a shot. USD Cavese's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberigo Taurino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vincent Olsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Augusto Bonfigli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fulvio Cimino in the 63rd minute of play. When the match clock showed 66 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Fulvio Cimino sped through USD Cavese's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Augusto Bonfigli. In the 70thth minute of the game Fulvio Cimino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but USD Cavese's Augusto Bonfigli was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 72 minutes, Arrigo Lauro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. USD Cavese's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arrigo Lauro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the USD Cavese defense, Emilio Anzolin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Augusto Bonfigli. The USD Cavese fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Augusto Bonfigli should have stopped the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Li Archibugieri fans cheered their team off the field, for while USD Cavese had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
