A well-hit corner resulted in Rab Uba heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 27 minutes into the match, Villa Gordiani's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Pomponio came free, but Iker Casillas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Enzo Bardella took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ove Bergman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 39 minutes into the match, Villa Gordiani's Ove Bergman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Enzo Bardella narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alessio Aversa replaced Corrado Micucci. AS Fonte Nuova's Cristoforo Costantino was substituted for Arrigo Rapone. In the 70th minute Otang Irawan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enzo Bardella saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Enzo Bardella tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There was no doubt that Villa Gordiani were the better team. Villa Gordiani's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
