Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 150) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Enzo Alfani took the kick off in the first half of the match. Fedele Bontempi struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Corrado Albanesi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for TOP ONE. After 4 played minutes TOP ONE got a freekick which was hit by Felice Della Torre. Eraldo Marongiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enzo Alfani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enzo Alfani in the 6th minute of play forced TOP ONE's goalkeeper Eraldo Marongiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Enzo Alfani hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. If Comunardo Petrocchi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 12th minute of the game. One of TOP ONE:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Edinburgh D. C.:s goal. In the 15th minute there was a penalty for Edinburgh D. C.. Frank Bianchi stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Eraldo Marongiu. 0-1. Francesco Piccoli might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eraldo Marongiu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Francesco Piccoli ran back to his position shaking his head. 21 minutes into the match, TOP ONE's goal looked a bit too open when Ennio Scotti came free, but Eraldo Marongiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eraldo Marongiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristiano Monzeglio in the 26th minute of the match. Comunardo Petrocchi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Corrado Albanesi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fedele Bontempi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Corrado Albanesi having to interfere. Comunardo Petrocchi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 40 minutes, Fedele Bontempi made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Edinburgh D. C.'s Corrado Albanesi tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Fedele Bontempi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Corrado Albanesi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Edinburgh D. C.'s goalkeeper Corrado Albanesi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Comunardo Petrocchi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rdth minute of the game Fedele Bontempi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Edinburgh D. C.'s Corrado Albanesi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Edinburgh D. C.'s Francesco Piccoli got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eraldo Marongiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enzo Alfani in the 68th minute of play. Edinburgh D. C.'s Corrado Albanesi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrico Zuccarini in the 70th minute of play. Eraldo Marongiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ennio Scotti, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francesco Piccoli in the 73rd minute of play forced TOP ONE's goalkeeper Eraldo Marongiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
