Enzo Alfani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Concetto Piattelli having to interfere. 10 minutes into the match, Pedriano's goal looked a bit too open when Enzo Alfani came free, but Concetto Piattelli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 13 minutes, Ennio Scotti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Edinburgh D. C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Ennio Scotti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Corrado Albanesi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrea Giansante in the 17th minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 19th minute by Enzo Alfani got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Ennio Scotti in the 21stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Concetto Piattelli, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a rather tough play, Edinburgh D. C.'s Cristiano Monzeglio got a free kick in the 26th minute. Corrado Albanesi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrea Mazzei, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. When Ennio Scotti came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Edinburgh D. C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ennio Scotti couldn't finish the play. If Andrea Mazzei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute, Ferruccio Di Paolo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

A collision led to Edinburgh D. C. getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Cristiano Monzeglio hit a great ball. Ferruccio Scandella took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 57th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Corrado Albanesi. Edinburgh D. C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Domenico Terrasi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute, Frank Bianchi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Andrea Giansante during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Edinburgh D. C. booed when Pedriano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrea Giansante didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Edinburgh D. C.'s Cristiano Monzeglio got a free kick in the 71st minute. Pedriano's Concetto Piattelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enzo Alfani in the 94th minute of play.
