The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 7 minutes into the match, Ciro Demaria had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adriano Borrelli. Nugola AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ciro Demaria was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. When Nugola AFC's Alvaro Borgatello in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ceresāo's goalie prevented a goal. If Eugenio Di Carlo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the match, Nugola AFC's goalkeeper Adriano Borrelli had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ciro Demaria. After 37 played minutes, Nugola AFC's Cristoforo Petrucci shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ronny Eliasson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Nugola AFC reached it. Ciccio Larizza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adriano Borrelli having to interfere. The Nugola AFC fans' excitement grew in the 42nd match minute when Nugola AFC's Alvaro Borgatello looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 45th minute, Ciro Demaria got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eugenio Di Carlo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 49th minute. Ronny Eliasson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ciccio Larizza made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Eugenio Di Carlo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ciro Demaria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alvaro Borgatello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 65th minute, one of Ceresāo:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ceresāo. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eugenio Di Carlo got free with Ronny Eliasson in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ronny Eliasson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eugenio Di Carlo in the 76th minute. Eugenio Di Carlo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Ronny Eliasson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eugenio Di Carlo in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ronny Eliasson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 81 minutes into the match, Eugenio Di Carlo notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Ceresāo's Ronny Eliasson. Ronny Eliasson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Ceresāo booed when Nugola AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arturo Passerini didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 95 played minutes Ceresāo got a freekick which was hit by Biagio Cala. After 96 played minutes Ceresāo got a freekick which was hit by Frank Baur. A hard shot by Amos Di Francesco from long distance, 97 minutes into the match, got Ronny Eliasson's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Nugola AFC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
