The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eugenio Lauri during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 17th match minute, Villazzano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eugenio Lauri to maneuver through the defense. Emiliano Scatena was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ernesto Bevilacqua's late challenge caught a Villazzano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The supporters of FC Tagliacozzo 1923 booed when Villazzano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arrigo Maestri didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dario Piacente in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emiliano Scatena prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Enrico Ottavi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudio Simeoni in the 55th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Amedeo Santovito got free with Enrico Ottavi in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edoardo Melfi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrico Ottavi having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Villazzano's Concetto Di Massimo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Enrico Ottavi. That made the score 2-2 after 91 minutes of play. The supporters of Villazzano booed when FC Tagliacozzo 1923 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Demetrio Granato didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emiliano Mazza struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Enrico Ottavi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Villazzano.
