The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the game, Roldán Barcelo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Fabiano De Matteis. Roldán Barcelo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 8th minute, Cristoforo Pierdomenico left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Phoenix Suns fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Fabiano De Matteis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hillar Rahkema in the 12th minute of play. In the 15th minute Roldán Barcelo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabiano De Matteis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Alberigo Ucci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pionca's Fabiano De Matteis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roldán Barcelo in the 20th minute of play. Cristoforo Pierdomenico was extremely unlucky when he, in the 22nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 25th minute, Roldán Barcelo made a precise shot to the right of Fabiano De Matteis. Pionca's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Cristoforo Pierdomenico could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Fabiano De Matteis made a huge save. Fabiano De Matteis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hillar Rahkema, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 43 minutes into the match, Cristoforo Pierdomenico notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Pionca's Fabiano De Matteis. Fabiano De Matteis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Adriano Palmieri fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pionca's protests and gave Adriano Palmieri a yellow card for diving instead. After 46 played minutes Pionca got a freekick which was hit by Adriano Palmieri. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

Fabiano De Matteis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roldán Barcelo in the 51st minute of play. 53 minutes into the game, Carmine Briganti was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pionca's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Phoenix Suns the free kick. In the 53rd match minute, Pionca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carmine Briganti to maneuver through the defense. In the 57th minute, Hillar Rahkema got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 59 minutes into the game, Hillar Rahkema cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Fabiano De Matteis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cristoforo Pierdomenico received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Fabiano De Matteis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th minute, Hillar Rahkema made a precise shot to the right of Fabiano De Matteis. Pionca's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0. In the 69th minute, Cristoforo Pierdomenico ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fabiano De Matteis was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. Fabiano De Matteis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hillar Rahkema in the 72nd minute of play. Cristoforo Pierdomenico scored 9-0 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fabiano De Matteis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Fabiano De Matteis came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Phoenix Suns's Hillar Rahkema. But to his dismay, Hillar Rahkema quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 10-0. Fabiano De Matteis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristoforo Pierdomenico in the 85th minute of the match. Pionca's Fabiano De Matteis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roldán Barcelo in the 86th minute of play. Fabiano De Matteis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roldán Barcelo, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. In the 91st minute Cristoforo Pierdomenico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabiano De Matteis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Phoenix Suns fully deserved thier win.
