The supporters of Saima FC booed when Pionca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adriano Palmieri didn't get a good kick on the ball. During the 34th minute of the match Adriano Palmieri completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Adriano Palmieri a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Pionca getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Adriano Palmieri hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alberigo Ucci during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alberigo Ucci kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Edmondo Di Felice charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edmondo Di Felice the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Saima FC's Edmondo Di Felice got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Pionca's Alberigo Ucci got his second yellow card of the match in the 46th minute. The referee ordered Alberigo Ucci off the ground. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Enzo Lazzaro to make the kick off. Enzo Lazzaro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Pionca's Anthony Patricelli got a free kick in the 60th minute. The supporters of Pionca booed when Saima FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dave Tenaglia didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 77 minutes, Cristoforo Fasciani mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Saima FC and the Pionca players grew even worse after the yellow card. Saima FC's Cristoforo Fasciani got his second yellow card of the match in the 80th minute. The referee ordered Cristoforo Fasciani off the ground. In the 81st match minute, Saima FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristoforo Fasciani to maneuver through the defense. Frank Puddu might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dario Apolloni. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frank Puddu ran back to his position shaking his head. After 89 played minutes Saima FC got a freekick which was hit by Amos Lusi. A hard shot by Amedeo Angelucci from long distance, 90 minutes into the match, got Dario Apolloni's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. If Anthony Patricelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
