A well-hit corner resulted in Fulvio Biavati heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Ermanno De Gregorio took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Fausto Colangelo to make any attempt to save it. In the 9th minute Claudio Sciotto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Schirru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anthony Chiola in the 12th minute of play forced Castelnuovo's goalkeeper Fausto Colangelo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Ermanno De Gregorio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fausto Colangelo. Castelnuovo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ermanno De Gregorio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Fausto Colangelo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anthony Chiola in the 25th minute of the match. The corner ended in Ermanno De Gregorio almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Castelnuovo's Fausto Colangelo did a great save. Fausto Colangelo stood somewhat misplaced when Ermanno De Gregorio came free in front of goal and shot 3-0 to the left of him in the 26 minute. Alvaro Schirru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudio Sciotto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute Anthony Chiola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fausto Colangelo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Ermanno De Gregorio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fausto Colangelo was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Alfonso Sciamanna's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alvaro Schirru read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Alvaro Schirru, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aldo Prandini in the 88th minute of play forced Fi.Lan.Ti Ps's goalkeeper Alvaro Schirru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fi.Lan.Ti Ps's Alvaro Schirru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aldo Prandini in the 90th minute of play. Fausto Colangelo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anthony Chiola in the 92nd minute of play. 94 minutes into the game, Fi.Lan.Ti Ps's Ermanno De Gregorio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fausto Colangelo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-2. 97 minutes into the match, Fi.Lan.Ti Ps's goalkeeper Alvaro Schirru had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aldo Prandini. For all the effort they put into the match, the Castelnuovo players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Fi.Lan.Ti Ps.
