Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Eraldo Cocca made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 3rd minute Claudio Sciotto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciccio Di Tommaso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 5thth minute of the game Claudio Sciotto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Montorfano's Ciccio Di Tommaso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 8 minutes into the game, Aldo Prandini cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ciccio Di Tommaso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Montorfano's zone, Claudio Sciotto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ciccio Di Tommaso came out of the goal and Claudio Sciotto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 19 minutes into the game, Franco Ronconi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Montorfano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Castelnuovo the free kick. After a rather tough play, Montorfano's Franco Ronconi got a free kick in the 19th minute. Comunardo Barillari kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Montorfano's Fausto Colangelo threw himself towards the right post 25 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eraldo Pozzo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Montorfano's Ciccio Di Tommaso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aldo Prandini in the 28th minute of play. If Claudio Sciotto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Claudio Sciotto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciccio Di Tommaso having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Montorfano's Dennis Apolloni got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Ciccio Di Tommaso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aldo Prandini in the 35th minute of play. Claudio Sciotto took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ciccio Di Tommaso. Ciccio Di Tommaso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Ciccio Di Tommaso came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Castelnuovo's Comunardo Barillari. But to his dismay, Comunardo Barillari quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. 47 minutes into the match, Montorfano's goal looked a bit too open when Anfilogino Stefano came free, but Ciccio Di Tommaso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Castelnuovo's Attilio De Iuliis was substituted for Claudio Sciotto. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aldo Prandini was the one to do the kick off. After 53 minutes, Aldo Prandini made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Montorfano's Ciccio Di Tommaso tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Montorfano's Ciccio Di Tommaso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aldo Prandini in the 57th minute of play. Anfilogino Stefano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 60thth minute of the game Aldo Prandini who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Montorfano's Ciccio Di Tommaso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Aldo Prandini kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ciccio Di Tommaso. That made the score 0-5 in the 62 minute of play. Castelnuovo made a substitution. Ferdinando Albertosi replaced Comunardo Barillari. With a little luck, Montorfano's Ciccio Di Tommaso got control of the ball when Aldo Prandini tried to sneak it across the goal line. 0-6 became the score in the 74th minute when Alfonso Sciamanna elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Ciccio Di Tommaso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aldo Prandini, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 80th match minute, Montorfano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dennis Apolloni to maneuver through the defense. A hard, long distance shot from Anfilogino Stefano flew over the goal. 88 minutes into the match, Montorfano's goal looked a bit too open when Aldo Prandini came free, but Ciccio Di Tommaso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Montorfano getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Elia Grieco hit a great ball. Aldo Prandini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfonso Sciamanna in the 93rd minute of play forced Montorfano's goalkeeper Ciccio Di Tommaso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfonso Sciamanna in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ciccio Di Tommaso saved Montorfano from getting behind. Aldo Prandini could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Ciccio Di Tommaso made a huge save. Aldo Prandini's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ciccio Di Tommaso firmly grabbed it by the left post. Castelnuovo played a much better game than Montorfano and deserved their victory. The Montorfano players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
