The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute of the match, Fausto Pinti got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ercole Serantoni was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The supporters of Eurospeed Asti booed when Reggina Calcio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dan Lund didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ercole Serantoni stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elia Pietrantoni's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Ercole Serantoni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elia Pietrantoni, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. With a little luck, Reggina Calcio's Ercole Serantoni got control of the ball when Fausto Pinti tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ercole Serantoni made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fausto Pinti in the 25th minute. Ercole Serantoni stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elia Pietrantoni's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. Eurospeed Asti's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ettore Masciarelli in the 26th minute. After a rather tough play, Reggina Calcio's Dan Lund got a free kick in the 30th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elia Pietrantoni in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ercole Serantoni prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Elia Pietrantoni could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Ercole Serantoni made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grant Irø in the 37th minute of play forced Reggina Calcio's goalkeeper Ercole Serantoni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Grant Irø had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 43 minutes into the match, Fausto Pinti had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ercole Serantoni. Reggina Calcio's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fausto Pinti was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Grant Irø scored 5-0 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ercole Serantoni, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The wind increased when Elia Pietrantoni made the kick off in the second half. Ercole Serantoni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Svetlozar Cholakov in the 53rd minute of play. Ercole Serantoni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fausto Pinti in the 54th minute of the match. Ercole Serantoni came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Eurospeed Asti's Fausto Pinti. But to his dismay, Fausto Pinti quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. 69 minutes into the match, Reggina Calcio's goal looked a bit too open when Svetlozar Cholakov came free, but Ercole Serantoni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Svetlozar Cholakov in the 72nd minute of play forced Reggina Calcio's goalkeeper Ercole Serantoni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute Fausto Pinti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ercole Serantoni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reggina Calcio's Ercole Serantoni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Svetlozar Cholakov in the 75th minute of play. Eurospeed Asti were awarded a corner in the 77th minute after Reggina Calcio's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ettore Masciarelli took the corner. Eurospeed Asti's Francesco Cirelli was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ercole Serantoni in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Grant Irø came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Eurospeed Asti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Grant Irø couldn't finish the play. In the 80th minute, Fausto Pinti ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ercole Serantoni was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. Ercole Serantoni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Grant Irø, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ercole Serantoni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francesco Cirelli, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. When Svetlozar Cholakov came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Eurospeed Asti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Svetlozar Cholakov couldn't finish the play. Svetlozar Cholakov took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ercole Serantoni. Ercole Serantoni dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 10-0. There was no doubt that Eurospeed Asti were the better team. Eurospeed Asti's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
