But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Franco Ranieri couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Soulis Kounelakis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The Us Lecce Spa fans' excitement grew in the 53rd match minute when Us Lecce Spa's Napoleon Gamza looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Soulis Kounelakis in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Delfim Freitas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Flacara Militari made a substitution. Filippo Passerini replaced Christian Hansson. Flacara Militari's Oliverios Freire was substituted for Camillo Palone. Dave Coletti kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. In the 83rd match minute, Flacara Militari was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dave Coletti to maneuver through the defense. 84 minutes into the match, Us Lecce Spa's Soulis Kounelakis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Delfim Freitas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Franco Ranieri in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emmanuel Nizam prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Flacara Militari's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
