When the match had gone on for 3 minutes, Cesare Pollastrini put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Alberto Franco. Alvaro Giannetta hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. In the 8th minute, Napoleon Gamza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alberto Franco was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. When the match clock showed 10 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Cesare Pollastrini sped through Montorio FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alberto Franco. 13 minutes into the game, Us Lecce Spa's Filippo Piano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alberto Franco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. In the 17th minute, Napoleon Gamza made a precise shot to the right of Alberto Franco. Montorio FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. In the 20th match minute, Montorio FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alessandro De Amicis to maneuver through the defense. Napoleon Gamza took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alberto Franco. Alberto Franco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. In the 27th minute, Cesare Pollastrini ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alberto Franco was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. Cesare Pollastrini recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dave Melucci kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Us Lecce Spa's Toninho Cerezo got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cesare Pollastrini scored 0-8 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alberto Franco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 44th minute, Cesare Pollastrini ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alberto Franco was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-9. After the first half Us Lecce Spa were leading 0-9. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Adriano Vitelli made the kick off in the second half. Napoleon Gamza's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Alberto Franco firmly grabbed it by the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Augusto Como during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Montorio FC's Augusto Como got a free kick in the 55th minute. After 56 played minutes, Us Lecce Spa's Toninho Cerezo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alberto Franco came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Us Lecce Spa reached it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edoardo Gelsomini during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Edoardo Gelsomini hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Soulis Kounelakis received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alberto Franco came out and tried to block the shot, but Soulis Kounelakis slotted it home off the left post making it 0-10 in the 58th minute. Alberto Franco stood somewhat misplaced when Soulis Kounelakis came free in front of goal and shot 0-11 to the left of him in the 61 minute. Christian Guerrieri kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. 66 minutes into the game, Us Lecce Spa's Soulis Kounelakis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alberto Franco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-12. Alberto Franco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Soulis Kounelakis in the 69th minute. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Soulis Kounelakis took a quick shot and it went in 0-13 without a chance for Alberto Franco to make any attempt to save it. Christian Guerrieri hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. 75 minutes into the match, Montorio FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cesare Pollastrini came free, but Alberto Franco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute, Us Lecce Spa's Soulis Kounelakis dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-14. Montorio FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 81st minute, when Soulis Kounelakis scored to the left of an out of position Alberto Franco, making the score, 0-15. Soulis Kounelakis took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alberto Franco. Alberto Franco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-16. 90 minutes into the game, Soulis Kounelakis recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Alberto Franco. Soulis Kounelakis showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-17. 93 minutes into the match, Soulis Kounelakis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alberto Franco. Montorio FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Soulis Kounelakis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-18. Alberto Franco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Soulis Kounelakis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Us Lecce Spa's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
